COME JOIN US. WE HAVE BEEN DEMONSTRATING SINCE MARCH, 2007 FOR THE LIVES AND SAFETY OF OUR TROOPS. HELP STOP THIS PRE-EMPTIVE AND ILLEGAL WAR ON IRAQ.

WHAT WE BELIEVE:

We believe we must honor American soldiers who died in this war having faith that their deaths would aid world peace. We commit ourselves to that peace. We believe that soldiers who have fought and who are injured—in body, mind, or spirit—must be cared for and NEVER told: "You had a pre-existing condition which makes you ineligible for government provided medical care." This statement by the United States Department of Defense is morally repugnant. We believe that the only way to stop the deaths—military and civilian--and avoid more suffering is to stop this war.

We are patriotic Americans who support our troops. We strongly disagree with those who call themselves "patriotic" for wanting to send our sons and daughters to suffer and die in an immoral war, fought mainly for oil.***

If you agree with our position, please stand with us on Wednesdays and Fridays between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. for any length of time. Your commitment could make the difference in citizen calls to Senators Claire McCaskill and Kit Bond demanding Iraq War Funds be cut and our troops brought home to safety. Kirkwood United for Troop Support cannot sit back quietly while this immoral war rages and U.S. troops and innocent Iraqi citizens are maimed and killed. WE MUST SPEAK; WE MUST PROTEST!

Most Kirkwood United members reside in Kirkwood. However, we invite all citizens from metro St. Louis to join us or to organize protest groups within their home communities. We supply protest signs for all demonstrators, or you may bring your own. The closest parking is behind Kirkwood City Hall, next to the Kirkwood Police Department, 131 W. Madison.

IMPEACHMENT: Since June, 2007, Kirkwood United for Troop Support has also demonstrated for impeachment: first of Cheney, and then W. Bush. It is our belief that the cure for Bush-Cheney abuses of power in attacking constitutionally guaranteed freedoms is impeachment—a process established by the U. S. Constitution. This is our country; we will not let Bush-Cheney hijack our freedoms and our democracy any further.
